Xiaomi has finally decided to upgrade their Mi Pad tablets. Last time they upgraded it with the Mi Pad 2. Xiaomi replaced the plastic back with a metal body and put in an Intel processor to run both Android and Windows 10. This time it is the Mi Pad 3. Let’s see what changes were made this time.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 has a 7.9 inch 1536 x 2048 pixel LCD display. They are keeping the metal unibody design. It is pretty good looking so no point in changing I guess. On the inside is a Mediatek MT8176 chipset with two 2.1 GHz Cortex-A72 cores and four 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. So it is only going to be running Android with a MIUI8 skin on top. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Does not support external storage which is a bit odd. Cause the first one had external storage. On the back of the device is a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture what records 1080p videos. On the front of the device is a 5 MP Selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
All of this is powered by a 6,600 mAh battery. Good enough power source for something like this. Xiaomi promises 867 hours of standby time and about 12 hours of on screen time. The port is a USB Type C and it has fast charging. It has a price tag of CNY 1499, which is about $220. There is no launch date still available. But we are expecting it to be out within this month.
