Everyone remembers last year, it just went away. The year when we had some of the best smartphones ever made and for some of the best price too. Good smartphones have become more and more cheep. Companies like Xiaomi and OnePlus have taken over the flagship market multiple times with their mid priced smartphones. But I’m not going to talk about those great in budget smartphones. I’m going to talk about Vertu Constellation. An over priced phone that no man with basic tech understanding wants to buy.
The Vertu Constellation is a self proclaimed “luxury” phone with a 5.5 inch 2,560 x 1,440 display. Running on a Snapdragon 820 processor. It has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It runs runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. So it’s not even the latest android. On the back of the device is a 12MP camera with 1.55 micron pixels. It can shoot 4K videos.
All of this is powered by a 3,220 mAh battery. To power things up you get a USB Type-C port and also wireless charging. So you are getting nothing more then the OnePlus 3T (you are getting less then the OnePlus 3T) or even the Nexus 5X (Which has a way better software and camera experience) sitting on my table right now. So what are you getting that makes it worth thousands of dollars?
The Vertu Constellation is covered in Italian leather. It has a sapphire crystal screen, dual SIM support, Dolby Digital Plus with virtual surround sound. Also you get a bunch of concierge services by Vertu including an encrypted phone call system.
I’ve said this before about phones from Vertu. They are not for buying. They are for gifting to the new partner of your million dollar real-estate agency. Or if you are Nick Furry or something. Cause Captain America can’t afford this phone. But still if you have to have it just for the sake of having it, then it comes out this February. No details on pricing just yet. But the Vertu Signature Touch went for about $10,000. So expect something more than that.
