Virtual Reality has started to catch up to all the game development companies. Everyone is now trying to introduce their latest games to VR. So the industry needs something new to make gamers drool over. That is what Razer is doing with Project Ariana. It is an immersive gaming experience that uses advanced projection system.
Project Ariana is quite close to something Microsoft tried to do a few years ago. But they just could not make it hit with the audience. Also this kind of a setup is bound to be costly. But Razor is still giving it a shot. It is basically an advanced projection mechanism that will take gaming out of the monitor and all around us.
It is basically a very small projector that has an ultra-wide fisheye lens. It has two 3D depth sensing cameras. These cameras are used to analyze the environment around the users. They detect obstacle like furniture if you are playing in a room or a tree or a bush if you are in a park. Basically to help you not to bump into things and get hurt. If this works properly then a lot of people are really going to want thus. Cause with this you don’t need an open space to play on it.
Nothing about releasing or pricing. This is still basically the demo stage. But they should be going forward with it if they get a good response at CES.
