Raspberry Pi is celebrating their fifth year. Yes, it has been five years since the first Raspberry Pi and what better way to celebrate then to launch a new device. Anyone remember the Raspberry Pi Zero? It was a $5 computer that is still available in the market! No kidding, you can buy it right now. One of the cheapest boards you will find in the market but one of the good cheap ones too. But they have upgraded it with the new Raspberry Pi Zero W. Let’s look into it.
To start it off, the Pi Zero W has the same W 802.11n chip as the Pi 3. To add to the bucket is Bluetooth 4.0, of course wireless. But it comes in that small Pi Zero body. The same single-core 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM and lots of inputs and outputs (You know you need them). If you already own the Pi Zero then you probably own the whole starter kit including the USB hub, Wi-Fi dongle and Bluetooth dongle. But with the Pi Zero W you get a Mini-HDMI port, Micro-USB On-The-Go port, Micro-USB power, HAT-compatible 40-pin header, Composite video and reset headers and a CSI camera connector. So no need to spend that extra $20 that you had to with the Pi Zero. You get everything with just only 5 more bucks.
The Raspberry Pi Zero W has a price tag of $10 and it is selling fast. So if you want to have it, better tell the store nearest you to put one aside.
