Microsoft has been a huge influence in the modern education sector. Their latest addition is the new Microsoft Whiteboard. It is a Windows platform which is also a white board. It was announced A few months back and now it is running for free on the Windows Store.
It is a basic Windows interactive platform which works as an x86 application running on the Windows 10 platform. So it can be used in any PC with a Windows 10 platform if it is connected to an interactive whiteboard. What it does is that you can give touch based inputs such as drawings and sketches and it will to an interactive representation on the white board. The platform also uses algorithms to recognize shapes and hand writing. It is basically a teaching platform so if you need to get some information from the internet like an article or a video or any sort of a multimedia file then you can get that too. This gives it the beginnings of a full classroom teaching platform. Not a full platform but a partial one that they should try to make full.
A small pause in the system is that the Microsoft Whiteboard is connected to OneNote Class Notebook and can only be used with it. So if you are already using it then that is good news cause you can just integrate it with the Microsoft Learning Management System (LMS). There are many schools that are funded by and working alongside Microsoft. But if you are not one of them then you can easily contact them. I’m sure they will be happy to work it out.
Anyway, the application is available on the Windows store for free to be used in any Windows 10 PC. You can also use it with Microsoft’s own Surface Hub. A wider launch and broader approach is possibly depended on the feedback from the audience.
