LeEco have not been very vocal about what they are working on right now. Their silence stirred up a bunch of rumors. But finally they spoke up to get us the new Le Pro3 Elite. A confusing new smartphone which sounds like an update to the previous Le Pro3. But it actually is not. Let’s see what they are offering with this one.
Le Pro3 Elite has a 5.5 inch 1080p LCD display. It runs on a Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is a downgrade from the previous Snapdragon 821. There is no NFC either. So I don’t really get the “Elite” meaning. Cause Elite is supposed to mean it is better than before. But what can we do about it.
Other than that there are no changes. It has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the back of the device is a 6MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. All of this is powered by a 4070mAh battery.
The LeEco Le Pro3 Elite is up for sale now on lemall.com and it has a price tag of CNY 1699, which converts to about $245. This is about $30 less than the previous Le Pro3. So the phone is actually just the same smartphone with an older processor and no NFC. Firstly I don’t get the reason to launch something like this and secondly if you are launching something like this call it “Lite” not “Elite”. Elite makes it sound like it’s made of crystal sapphire or something. Whatever, you do get 3 months of free LeEco streaming service subscription. So buy the Le Pro3 Elite if you don’t need NFC and want to buy the Le Pro3.
